Karma Nirvana as many of you know have Roadshows across the country during this year. The conferences are on honour based violence and forced marriages and the link for many young people over the summer holidays in particular, when the highest number of referals com into Karma Nirvana for young people who are going abroad to be married and return to England, sometimes remain out there, sometimes against their will.

2  things for people to note....

1. Tommorow there is a possible article in the Independant on Karma Nirvana's Roadshow and the reaction of some Local authorities.

2. The  Roadshows  in London  are On 15th June 2010....for all of you who are able to attend. On the same day in different parts of London..

These will be at the moment at:

.....Hounslow Civic Hall

.....Ealing

.....Southall

The details of times and venues will be on the Karma Nirvana website, should MT members be able to attend. You can also contact the Civic Hall In Hounslow to check details and they may know where others are.

I have said to KN that there are members in London and nearby who may want to attend...Im not sure thatI will be there but would like to try.

Hi,

I am a new member of this forum but I also welcome the work of Karma Nirvana Roadshow, it will help a lot of women. I personally know someone forced to marry her cousin against her will and wish I had known about this then.

I posted this on another thread, but just to say, I went to the Karma Nirvana Roadshow last week. It was excellent - well attended too, by police, social workers etc. I met Jasvinder's daughter who is an amazing young woman, and there was a girl there who has volunteered to tell her story of abuse and how she's had to make a new life for herself away from  her family - she was so brave but I cried when she was telling what happened. The good news is that Jasvinder is going to Brussels soon to talk about raising awareness and funds for the cause.

Its good you were able  to go to the roadshow and to meet Lisa...from Jas's book 'Shame' ...!  The roadshows are going well, and  continue next week. Yes, the young girl who spoke knows of our forum, but not posted yet...she has been through a great deal. Jasvinder has been toBrussels and back!

Im really pleased someone from here has been to one of the roadshows!

There are quite a few more happening..so if others want to attend...see the Karma Nirvana Site on internet and you will see details of these.
