Hey guys  Smiley

Hope your all fine and dandy...I caught the last few mins of the current book of the week reading on radio 4 last night. Its about the author Zaiba Malik growing up in Bradford in a Pakistani community and it was pretty interesting. I'm going to catch up on it from the beginning tonight and thought maybe you guys would like to have a listen also....you can listen online, link below:

Cinnamon thank you for recommending the book and link i will give it a go.
Do check 'Nine parts of Desire' written by an jewish who visited and lived in middle east for over couple of yeards

It's a great book - I read it recently. Also, I can second Chweetgurl's recommendation of Nine Parts of Desire - very insightful and pulls no punches, yet manages to stay respectful too. Brilliantly written.
I'm currently reading "Eight Months on Ghazzah Street" by Hilary Mantel which is about an English woman whose husband gets a job in Saudi and she goes with him - she describes her experiences as a "non-woman" and although I'm only a quarter through, it looks very promising - a CPD (Can't Put Down) as my Mum would say. I'll let you know how it pans out.
