Hi
Does anybody know any good books concerning mixed race couples and their experiances. I would not mind if its fiction or non fiction.
Thank You

Well there has been a thread on here with talk about "shame" and "daughters of shame" by Jasvinder Sanghera. Otherwise, i can't think of anything. I'm sure there are plenty out there though

Chweetgurl, how do you know Jack and Zena Briggs have broken up?
That's big news if it's true...

Yes I also heard from friends that Jack and Zeena split up...but no idea where it was first confirmed...is there anything on the website?
Jack did alot of work with police forces and agencies on safety and victims of situations like theirs...

Stupid question - who are Jack and Zeena?

Good question!
As for books - Fiction writer : Nisha Minhas writes fiction based on British Asians in the British Culture.
I think she herself married an English guy so is in a Mixed race relationship herself!
Look her up.

Zena and Jack - now I know who they are! I've heard a lot about them (but not their names).

I was quite shocked by Zena's website the homepage has a very sad picture, I was almost sick looking at it! So sad and yet this happens regularly. If you look at her site you'll know what I mean, but IWARN YOU NOW it is not for sensitive eyes and do not look at it if you do scare easily!

I have their book, but wont part with it!as its very difficult to get hold of it now...although you might try Amazon. There quite a bit of info on the web ,its a case of looking through..google whatever.
Its a story about 2 people being on the run from a family. I believe many years later the death threat was lifted by her family, but the couple moved many many times throughout the country to keep safe.

It's a fair question Shofny- not everyone has heard of them and I have only come across them since working on MixTogether.
You are right about the picture on the website, it is very shocking (and arguably could be put on a back page with a warning).

I'll be honest too- the picture looks like it might be a fake. It's as if they have cut clean through her headscarf, with no blood anywhere???
