Thanks for the interest - this Sunday is when it is due to appear. Mind you, it is not very long so it's probably worth saving your £2 and reading it when I post the original version of it on Mixed Together.

The Observer left out most of my music on their piece today. I enclose the article as it should have read:
Top music DVD of the moment has to be Stomper 98 and their 10 Years
> Birthday Bash a live celebration of probably the best of the
> current German Oi! bands. In the, it must be admitted, musically
> limited Oi! genre, they stand out for having a very tuneful
> saxophonist, mixed in with all the usual guitars, skinhead crops and
> Ben Shermans.
> Musically I have been going through a retro period, with my current
> faves being The Templars, American Oi! legends, The Shocks, German
> 77 style punkers, and Perkele, the most influential and popular
> Swedish band around at the moment on the underground scene.
> Book wise I am continuing on my quest to read every book ever
> written about the Second World War, with The Retreat by Michael
> Jones, the most recent addition to my library. This is a top notch
> account of how the Red Army fought the Germans to a standstill in
> December 1941 in my opinion the real turning point of the war. I
> have also recently finished a long out of print book The Naked Island
> , by Russell Braddon a sarcastic and funny (really) account of how
> a man managed to survive 4 years of Japanese incarceration, after
> the fall of Singapore.
> The best drama DVD I watched of late and a reminder of how good
> the BBC once was at this type of thing was Wings the 1970s show
> about the birth of the Royal Flying Corps in the First World War.
> Slow paced, good characterisation and a compelling, human interest
> story. They dont make them like this anymore.

Nice one Bobby!
What's your relationship with the Observer- do you write for them often? Your piece doesn't have much introduction, so do you have a regular audience there??

ah, don't write for them often. That was my second piece in a year. I do not expect a deluge of interest in German Oi! punk in the future. Although, saying that, I was genuinely surprised at the interest on this site. I guess it shows how 'open' you all are on Mix Together.
Just got some more Perkele CDs today. What a great band they are (Swedish). I defy anyone to listen to their song 'Weekend' and not hum it for a week!
